Leadership Camp is a program designed for aspiring, or existing camp leaders, 13+, to develop leadership skills for the next season of ministry.
Some leadership skills require more time, work, and focus to acquire, and Leadership Camp seeks to begin or continue preparing camp leaders a year in advance, for any Camp ministry.
At Sandy Cove Bible Camp, we understand the value of well-trained leaders, as we graduate our Leaders in Training, to Assistant Leaders, to eventually leadership positions. As a continuation of our desire to train our leaders well, we are opening up our Leadership Camp to any camp leaders who would like to be better equipped for the next year.
There is never enough time to get leaders ready before camp each spring. By the time the water warms up enough to be swimming and the ground dries up enough for activities, it is time to start summer camp. To get a head start on the next summer, have the weather needed for leader training, and have the least conflict with summer camp’s schedules, we decided it was best to run Leadership Camp at the end of the summer.
Also, those who get certified may be able to continue their training over the winter months, get experience, and still be certified for the next summer. This timeline will also benefit camps as they can hire a Leader for the next summer knowing they are already certified for the position.
