Swim for Life Program
As a Lifesaving Society Affiliate Member, Sandy Cove Bible Camp is excited to provide Swim for Life swimming lessons during regular camp weeks, for overnight campers.
Open for overnight campers during Junior, Middle, and Teen weeks, are optional swimming lessons taught in beautiful Davidson Lake by our Waterfront Manager. Swimming lessons are not open for Pee Wee and Day Campers, as they have a fun-packed schedule, that leaves no room for anything more.
LENGTH OF LESSONS:
8-9 lessons, 30 minutes each. (Lessons will proceed rain or shine, but not in the case of thunder and lightning! Eight (8) lessons are scheduled. If more than one lesson is canceled, appropriate arrangements may be made to make up lessons.)
CLASS SIZE:
Grouped with, up to 5, similarly skilled swimmers, with a max of 10 swimmers/week*, the instructor can adapt to each child’s swimming ability.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Polyester shirt (if the swimmer gets cold easily)
- Sunscreen
- Towel (if possible, overnight campers should bring at least 2)
- Bathing suit (if possible, overnight campers should bring more than 1)
- Goggles that DO NOT cover the nose
SWIMMING LEVEL:
When registering your child, please let us know what level they are in using this chart. However, if you are unsure, all campers in the Swim for Life program will be swim assessed Sunday, the first day of camp. If you have more questions, you can contact the Program Manager at
REGISTRATION:
Swimming lesson registration is included in the general registration form for the week.*
COST:
An additional $50 to the camp fee.
CANCELLATION:
- Before camp = full refund (-$10 admin fee)
- During camp = no refund
*If already at the max of 10 swimmers/week, campers will be added to a waitlist and contacted by our Waterfront Manager.
There will be no Public Swimming Lessons offered in 2025
Have you ever considered being a Lifeguard? Sandy Cove Bible Camp is excited to add the first two courses required for becoming a Lifeguard: Bronze Medallion and Bronze Cross!
These courses will be offered during our Leadership Camp at the end of the summer.
